The Hidden Kitesurfing Paradise - Puerto Rico

Coco Trigo has been fortunate enough to pioneer the shores of Puerto Rico. He has dedicated his time to riding the famous breaks around the island and making the most out of the "Hawaii of the East Coast".
The kitesurfing community in Puerto Rico is small. A crowded spot has 15 kites out max, making Puerto Rico a kitesurfing paradise.
Much of the swells we receive during the winter (Nov-Apr) are accompanied with wind transforming most of the north coast's surf spots into kitesurfing gems. We have a little of everything in our coasts; from hollow tubes, to gnarly shore breaks (with tons of beautiful puerto rican women in bikinis) to perfect point breaks.
I dare to say that Puerto Rico is relatively un-tapped for kitesurfing. There are still tons of spots that no one has kited yet, making solo sessions something completely normal. Puerto Rico is the "Hawaii of the East" except kitesurfing here has not been regulated at all. Here you can kitesurf anywhere you want.
Some of the most popular kitesurfing spots in Puerto Rico are, Punta las Marias Reef in San Juan, Shacks in Isabela, Ocean Park in San Juan, Caballos in San Juan, Montones in Isabela and Surfers Beachin Aguadilla.
Puerto Rico has endless potential if you time the trades and waves accordingly.
