A few more Days until the PKRA Fuerteventura
Jul-25-2013
The Fuerteventura slalom and freestyle PKRA World Cup will start in a couple days. This will be the 100th PKRA event. It is very fitting that Fuerteventura will host this special event, having being a partner for over a decade and hosting some of the most memorable competitions. Early forecasts on Windfinder seem to predict is very windy week in Fuerteventura and the action should be amazing.
The slalom racers will take to the water Saturday and will be competing for four days straight. This will be the windiest stop for the slalom racers and specialized boards and kites will be used in the high winds of Fuerteventura. Alongside top riders like Julien Kerneur and Adam Whitington some top freestyle competitors would also be competing in this event. After two slalom events Bryan Lake is in the points lead but Julien Kerneur after two consecutive second-place finishs, he is looking for his first win.
Freestyle is always very exciting in Fuerteventura due to the high winds and the flatwater inside section. The battle for the 2013 world tour championships is much more open now after the injury to Youri Zoon and the victory of Marc Jacobs in Germany. Alex Pastor can take a commanding lead in the 2013 season with a victory. Bruna Kajiya will also be missing this event, opening chances for another girl to get a podium spot. Local favorites Gisela Pulido can also regain her points lead with a victory.
The event will be eight days of nonstop action day and night. With winds blowing all day and big parties every night in the Carpa. Make sure you follow us live and on Facebook and Twitter for the latest news and updates.
