Smooth, constant power during your turns without any hesitation or back stall will allow you to choose the perfect line rather than experiencing an unpredictable kite that rips you off your board.

Review of Element 7

Hi Guys,
If it could help, you will also find my review of the Element 7.
Rider : 22 years old, 70kg.
I made 50 sessions with the Element 7 in South of France (strong and gusty wind)
and in Netherland (winter conditions: 35kts and more or wave conditions: 25kts).
This kite allowed me to make a lot of progress in a first time. Light bar pressure
could be a little disturbing at the beginning (especially when you jump), but it is
also something reassuring and comfortable in strong wind. After a couple of
session, you do not think about it anymore and just have fun.... Light bar
pressure is also something I appreciate in waves conditions. In addition to that
point, Element is great in waves conditions because the kite goes by himself in
the good place in the wind window.
That reaches me to another good point : this is a very multi style kite. This is a
good kite to make free ride, also fun in wave riding (even if Method sounds
better for it) and free style is also possible.
In the winter, I took the opportunity to test the kite in strong wind. I notice
that the control of the kite stays perfect, and stability two. However, the limit
of the Element 7 is reached if you try to move upwind in very strong wind :
the kite lost a bit of its stability but this is something reasonable comparing
with other kite. The solution is to place the trim in quite full power position, to
avoid depower position, and then, to move upwind.
About the construction, this kite is simply (quite) perfect: launching it is a
real pleasure (fast and simple) and I am very happy of appearance of the kite
after 50 sessions. (I stress that I wash it regularly (after 10 sessions more or
less)). Just be careful : the univalve cause damages to your kite when you put
it on the bag ... Switch put a patch on the kite to protect it but I think this
patch is not sufficient. That is why I put a towel (the same like to do the
washing up !) between the valve and the kite before putting the kite into his
bag. Trust me, it is simple and it then, no more damages !
If you want to appreciate our Belgian hard conditions, you can watch this video
on You Tube.
Link : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpCufpkQ ... e=youtu.be
A last point: I offer to beginners the opportunity to test Element 7 and their
first kite impressions were (and mine too) very enthusiastic. I recommend this
kite for beginners (easy relaunch, stability and strong construction). The bar
depower is good and safe even if if the release system could be improved on
two points : one : the kite continues to tract you on the water after releasing
and the release system is quite difficult to refit after releasing.
Finally, let me thank Switch a lot ! Switch has created the Element and makes
me very happy .
Cheers !

Review of Method V2 - 7m
By Telekiter
http://switchkites.com/headquarters/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2217
So guys and gals. I had the new Method 7 V2 out for the first time this weekend. Our surf season has not begun yet so i was out on the snow covered ice for about 2 hours.
So this is me:
90 kg, been riding since 2002 both snow and water.
Conditions: Cloudy, wind around 18-21 knots, very stable wind, and about 0 degrees celsius. surface was ice with hardpacked snow so good gripp under the alpine skiis.
The kite felt realy nice in the air turning was nice and comfortably fast using a switch bar in "long mode* = 52 cm. Tis kite is very powerfull for its size. Almost regretting not buying a 6 m instead. The kite drifted realy well when going off wind and it felt very stable in the air, although it was very stable windconditions so not a realy good test for stability. Realy impressive up wind performance (i would easily outrun my mate on his Slingshot REV 9, 2009 on the up wind leg). Re-launch was nice and fast, pull on steering line and it would just turn over and re-launch with no issues, realy good. Bar pressure was to my big, big, surprise not high at all!! I have the Element 9 and 13 and for my big kite the Blade Fat Lady. I´m a true office rat and does no workout at all and on this session I was using skiing gloves. I rode for 2 hours and was perfectly fine and felt nothing in my forearms. Bar pressur was set to lowed pressure setting and I would rate is as just a bit higher (but not much) then the Element. Remember it was about 20 knots and because of the hardpack snow conditions I had to de-power the kite a lot to hold it.
Quality is as with the Elements very good. And props to the design team for making that "bar pouch" in the bag. It is realy nice to just stuff down the bar in the bag with no worries of damaging the kite. The bag is off good size (many kites today have to small bags IMHO). and it is just very easy to get the kite back into the bag, very good!
Time will tell about the bar pressure when I get on the water, because I will use it it in higher winds then yeasterday. I´ve been out on the Element 13, on the water, in much more wind then we had yesterday.
Very excited so far and looking forward for the surfseason now.
